Social media

Social media is an important part of any marketing plan--especially for the boutique business. Unfortunately, a small business owner often wears many hats, with little time or inclination to delve into new technologies. That's where Abigail Boatwright Communications can help. Thanks to more than two years experience working with businesses to reach social media goals, I can work with you to develop a comprehensive social media marketing plan. I can train you to execute your goals, or I can run your social media presence for you. Whether you need blog, Facebook, Twitter or Google+ content, I'd love to work with you. Please contact me for more information about getting your business up to speed on popular social media channels.

Case Studies

The American Paint Horse Association
While working for APHA, I helped conceptualize and implement the association's social media presence on Facebook and Twitter. I helped train APHA's staff on social media practices and wrote several articles about social media, including Get Twitterpainted and Social Studies. During my time working with APHA's social media, its Facebook page attracted 40,000 active fans. More than 3,000 updates were sent from APHA's five twitter accounts: aphanews, worldshow, ajpha, aphashows and paintjournal. These accounts were critical to delivering news and encouraging interaction with members, especially during the APHA World Championship shows.

Salon Friends
When Les Hill and Glen Land opened Salon Friends in June 2011, they knew time was of the essence to inform both potential team members and clients of the location's new management. While the company's website was under construction, I worked with Les and Glen to create a social media marketing plan, then developed both a Facebook page and a Twitter account for the salon. Within two weeks, the Facebook page accumulated 100 fans and the salon was fully staffed by team members who learned of the salon from Facebook alone. Both of Salon Friends' social media accounts have continued to attract attention, helping the salon build a diverse clientele in a very short amount of time.
